The North West Fund 4 Digital & Creative, managed by AXM Venture Capital Limited, has co-led a £920,000 investment into Texere Publishing Limited, with the North West Fund 4 Venture Capital managed by EV Group, and with substantial co-investment by management.
Texere is a new publishing venture formed to exploit niche opportunities in the European and US scientific, technical and medical publishing market. The Company has an immediate focus on its online offering, providing high quality content and presentation both in print and online, with a goal to create thriving online communities.
The Company is led by a team with career-long experience in the STM market including [Andy Davies], Tracey Peers, and Richard Gallagher, supported by non-executive Chairman, publishing expert Peter Harkness. The Company is based in Knutsford.
The investment from the two North West Funds, which are each part of the £185m North West Fund financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank, will support the development of the online platform, and the launch of the first three titles focused on the laboratory and medical markets.
